 The Winning Proposal

Organize a charity doubles tennis tournament at the Harlem Tennis Center indoor facility–
The Morgan Stanley Open.  The tournament will feature teams from each division of the firm, competing for the ultimate prize of firm champion, and for a chance to win tickets to the 2008 US Open. The tournament plays to the competitive and the team spirit of the firm’s culture, while providing necessary funding for the program.  The donation will be provided to the organization on behalf of Morgan Stanley.

The goal of the event is to raise $10,000 to support the non-profit efforts of the Pyramid Tennis Association.
Overview of Pyramid Tennis Association

Through the efforts of Ms. Arvelia Myers, an African American tennis great from the 50’s and 60’s, who played with the likes of Arthur Ashe (Arthur also served as part of the Advisory committee) has been using tennis as a vehicle to provide opportunities for underprivileged kids to pursue their dreams of attending college and / or turning to pro tennis.
